Day nine
No luck involved, but a hell of a time in Las Vegas.
We break down our tents again, ok they were very modern tents with top service. You can tell that the Americans live off their tips, no matter which servants you see, there is always a friendly “how are you” or “you’re welcome”. But on the streets you see more and more people who are more busy with their cell phones and hardly notice everything around them. It's actually a shame, because no matter where we've been so far, there have been so many beautiful things we've seen.
Our next stop is now Los Angeles, and here too we have a few interesting experiences ahead of us. It takes about 4 hours west by convertible. The route there is a lot busier than through the desert area around Death Valley, but the temperatures today are not far off. When it's 41 degrees, we prefer to close the top of our Camaro again. So you can feel the air conditioning again
The closer we get to Los Angeles, the more dense the traffic becomes, despite 4-6 lanes in one direction. We will probably have to get used to planning a little more time for the journey in the next few days. At around 5 p.m. we reached our accommodation, a small, fine apartment, just 1 block from the famous Hollywool Blvd.

Hollywool Blvd
That would clear up the first tour in LA, with the longboards over Hollywood Blvd. Afterwards, something to eat at... a real McDonald's, and the day would be over all too quickly.
Day ten

VENICE BEACH
A new day in Los Angeles and the outlook for today, cloudless skies and up to 37 degrees. What's the best thing to do, really head to the beach, but not just any beach but the beach in LA “Venice Beach” So it's time to pack up the longboards, put the cameras in the backpack and off we go.
When you arrive at the beach you will find thousands of different motifs for your camera, you actually don't know where to start. The individual different artists who offer their works on the streets, without being intrusive like you know from Mallorca or something like that. Or the endlessly long sandy beach with its raging waves, a paradise for surfers.

The people look happy here, how else could they look at this sight.
But security is also well taken care of here. The lifeguard doesn't look as sexy as in the movies, but they keep a close eye on the whole beach. And if problems do arise, there are also the cops who patrol the beach in a relaxed manner.
In the evening comes our hour, the skaters and basketball players show off their skills in the sunset. The images that emerge here are simply experienced. With a 16mm lens you have to be really close to capture images like that.

Skate park
You wouldn't believe how many onlookers watch these feats of skaters and basketball players. These people are celebrated there, no envy or anything like that. Here one helps the other to become better and respects the other's performance.
The light is slowly becoming too scarce for our cameras and we head home. A lot of hot pictures want to be viewed and the plans for the next few days still have to be discussed.
