Hello dear blog reader,
I know I have not written anything new for a very long time. On the one hand, that was because hardly any travel or anything similar was possible, but also because I have been busy with a new project. And that is exactly what I want to tell you about now.
As you know, I love traveling and enjoying freedom, but that freedom has been taken away a little at the moment. Flying is no fun for me under these circumstances, so something new had to happen. How else can you discover the world? Clearly, with your own van. And that is exactly what I spent an intensive four months working on. What options are there, what do you need, which vehicle is best for me, and so on and so on.
What felt like 1000 ideas went through my head over those four months, and doubts kept coming up too. Is there enough space in the van, what is the best concept for my build? I think I watched every YouTube video on this topic and then ultimately decided to follow my own ideas. Of course, many build-out ideas flowed into my planning, but it was not supposed to become a copy of another van. I want to make my own mistakes. Yes, I can already say this much: not everything goes according to plan and I would do some things differently today, but I already knew that from my move to Mallorca, where not everything went according to plan either and in the end it was still the right path for me.
Well, right now I am back in cold and rainy Germany to put my plans into action. While looking for a good used Peugeot Boxer, thanks to my friend, the Peugeot dealer, I ended up with a new Boxer. Ok, that means I have peace of mind for the first two years when it comes to vehicle repairs, and I did not have to remove rust from the bodywork.
But then there was still the problem of where to do the conversion, because doing it on the street is a bit cold and probably not really possible. But I was lucky there too, or let us simply say I firmly believed I would find something suitable. And that is exactly what happened: Franke Design from Essen. I could not have had it better. A guy like no other, because he likes to take different paths and is, as I would say, a creative thinker and maker, and all of that in the field of vehicle conversions. Jackpot, I would say. By the way, you can find all his information on his Instagram or website, both clearly linked here.
As of today, I am right in the middle of the conversion and once again have little time for blog posts. I have also started a new YouTube channel for my van build and my later tours. If you do not know it yet, feel free to stop by, follow along, or leave your feedback. There is also a new Instagram channel, and I am happy about every follower and every bit of feedback there too. At the moment it is still a little difficult to keep everything running as usual, but I promise to do better, and every bit of feedback motivates me to do more there as well.
I will show you a few first impressions of the van here, but the blog is not meant to be about the build itself. Later it will be more about the experiences on van tours. And if you are wondering whether I will still be on Mallorca in summer: of course I will, as soon as the season starts there, I will be there. Until then, though, I will explore other beautiful places in Europe, probably starting with the route to Portugal. If you have been there before or have other great destinations for a van tour, write them in the comments. And if you are on tour yourself too, maybe one day we will sit together in a wonderful place and enjoy the time. I would love that.

So that is it for now. I am happy that I was able to spark your interest, and if you have suggestions, please feel free to write to me. I answer every question personally.
So stay healthy, and see you in the next blog post on Happiness is my life.
