Hello, my dears,
Anyone who knows me or follows me knows that I am now (May 2024) offering my holiday shoot for Mallorca travelers again for 6 months in Mallorca. The most frequently asked question from my customers is what I do the other 6 months of the year. My answer then is that I'm traveling through Asia. This is usually followed by questions about what is the most beautiful thing in Asia, and most people are amazed at my answer. “It’s the people there.” By that I don't mean her looks, but her friendliness and the way she deals with everyone else.
You don't get the feeling of being pigeonholed there, as is common in the West. It doesn't matter what you do or have, what matters is how you treat other people. Unfortunately, I discovered Asia far too late, and I have a good friend to thank for the fact that I did it at all, who accompanied me on my first trip to Asia for 6 weeks. Thanks again to Christina 😉 and also to her friend who trusted us.
Back then I would never have traveled alone because I can't easily approach other people. Today I know that you are not alone in Asia if you don't want to be. I can only recommend everyone to travel there to see for themselves. I only knew Thailand in particular from the mainstream media, and terms like “sex tourism and rip-off” were associated with it. Today this very country caught me, but not because of these terms. But more on that later.
In 2019, my trip was planned down to the smallest detail, flights, accommodation and simply everything that could be booked in advance was booked. I'm flying there today and have booked my accommodation for the first week and everything else will take place on site. I think you're just so much more relaxed and flexible, you live your journey the way you like best at that moment.
I didn't really get to know Thailand until the winter of 2022/2023. After Corona, Thailand was the first country in Asia that no longer had Corona restrictions, and anyone who knows me knows that I did not react to these Corona measures. And hey, I'm still alive! So it was clear to me that this winter you would stay in Thailand and get to know the country and the people. No sooner said than done and in love. Ok, first just the country, I liked the people too, but not yet in love.
I spent my first month in Thailand alone in Bangkok in 2022 to do my online work and explore Bangkok. Admittedly, it won't be my favorite city in Thailand because there is no sea there. In December my bro came to visit me there. By the way, there is no one I have met in more different countries than him, thank you for that.

From then on we explored Thailand together, Krabi, Phuket and the small islands, so first of all we did exactly this tourist program, insight for me? You can do it, but that's not what Thailand is all about. To get to know the real Thailand you should probably travel to the small towns where hardly any holidaymakers get lost, but I haven't done that yet either. After visiting my bro, I went to Pattaya for the first time. Admittedly, the city's beach is not the most beautiful, but in this city life seems to last 24 hours, this city never sleeps. But I think the reputation that Pattaya has precedes it, of course you can experience anything here for money, but you don't have to.
Most people associate Pattaya with permissive bars and paid sex, but anyone who is looking for that will find it and be able to use it. But if you want to get to know other sites, you will find them just as well. If you are now hoping for my report about the gogo bars, I have to disappoint you. I haven't been to any because that doesn't correspond to my idea of experiences.
I didn't even see the famous Soi 6 street this year because there were too many scantily dressed girls right at the beginning of the street that it made me very uncomfortable. But I also know today, don't judge these girls if you don't know their story.
Instead, I met a girl on Tinder who, although she had to work most of the day, had time every evening for 3 weeks and showed me the city, the good restaurants and clubs. Just what I needed at that time. Now you're probably wondering whether I had to pay for it and whether there was more. Yes, it was more, but without payment, of course I paid for everything when we had dinner in the evening, but because of her job, she wasn't a freelancer. Oh well, freelancers are what they call girls who accompany you for money. By the way, I find this word friendlier than the European word that is often used. Because in the end the girls decide for themselves how far they want to go, no one forces them to do it.
Now you're probably wondering what happened to this little relationship. We were in contact for about 2 months after I was back in Mallorca, but it was already clear that she and I were looking for something else. We didn't meet again after that, my last opinion was that she went to Malaysia because her new boyfriend lived there, I'm happy for her.
But it was already clear to me that Thailand was my place for the next winter. And the 2023/2024 trip was saved. I would like to write to you in my next post about everything that happened on my trip in 2023/2024. Find out how my thoughts about Thailand have changed and what my future plans are.
